It’s National Meadows Day on Saturday 6th July and the perfect time of year to see the delicate wildflowers and butterflies at their colourful best.
The National Trust look after many meadows around Berkshire, from the rare chalk grassland landscapes at The Holies, near Reading, to the butterfly-rich meadow clearings at Maidenhead Thicket. We even create meadows in our gardens, such as the orchard at Sandham Memorial Chapel, to encourage wildlife to thrive at our places.
Here are some suggested National Meadows Day ‘walk and a picnic’ ideas for this weekend at one of these beautiful meadows in Berkshire. View walks >>
